Less than an hour from downtown Phoenix, experts and novices alike can kayak or tube the Salt River. The river follows sagebrush and saguaro lined banks in the shadow of the Goldfield Mountains. You can spot bald eagle nests in the trees, a herd of wild horses make their home in the area, and there are bighorn sheep on Stewart Mountain.
